Let me introduce you to Secrets of the East, a heartfelt journey of self-discovery and creativity. It all began when I left India at 19, seeking freedom and a life as my own person, especially as a woman. I came from a place where women’s choices were limited, and I longed for something different
As I grew older and healed within, I found ways to reconnect with my roots and support my heritage. Last year was a turning point; after years of battling with chronic health conditions, I paused my social work career and embarked on a journey of self-discovery, realizing I had been neglecting my creative, poetic, and romantic side.
During three months of self-care—journaling, painting, cooking, and stargazing— came the idea of Secrets of the East. This venture blends my passions: human rights, environmental consciousness, empowerment, culture, creativity, and a sprinkle of whimsy and magic.
Now, I delight in balancing my part-time role as a domestic violence Counsellor with running Secrets of the East. Being a social worker first and a designer second forms the bedrock of my business values.
Life’s greatest gift is experiencing it slowly and consciously, and through Secrets of the East, I can’t wait to share this magic with you!
