Who is Strebor? Strebor (Roberts backwards) is made up of two sisters, Fiona and Joanna Roberts, who are originally from Darwin, Northern Territory. Fiona now calls Adelaide home and Joanna has moved back north to raise her two kidlets.
Fiona Roberts is a professional artist and art educator with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons) and Masters in Teaching. Joanna Roberts is a professional designer and artist with a Bachelor of Fashion Design from RMIT, and Associate Degree in Visual Art. Both sisters have extensive experience across a range of creative disciplines and industries, ranging from contributing to art and design books, various international and national art exhibitions. Now they have added a fashion label to the list!
Strebor Clothing was founded by Fiona Roberts in response to the demand for limited release, original, quirky and colourful fashion. Not only that, as an art teacher she really wanted fun fashion that was also practical – all the dresses have pockets! These designs are timeless, and most importantly are flattering and comfortable for a range of real-world, real-sized, women.
Fiona manages the day-to-day operations of the business, along with her separate art practice and her role as an art teacher in a local Adelaide high school.
Fiona’s partner, Scott, also plays a significant role in the business as an expert van driver, stall furniture designer/maker, market assembler & dismantler, and on occasion, makes an appearance as a very dapper market assistant/ coffee runner!
